The manual chemical cleaning method is very demanding in terms of correct choice of a used active cleaning ingredient and the technological procedure. Hence, it almost always concerns a combination of different techniques.
Depending on the nature of the contamination and the pH value, the very first step is devising a chemical, which reacts and helps us to break and soften or dissolve contaminated surfaces. The product is designed according to the nature of the contamination and the nature of the background material. These can be clearly visible contaminants, such as moulds, layers of paint, dried jam, burnt greases or lubricants, layers of adhesives, dried vulcanized rubber, flour or ash loess sediments, etc. However, the contamination may not be visible at all, as is the biological contamination, contamination by faecal or extinguishing water, leakage of chemicals into the air, contamination by smoke or flue gases ... When selecting chemicals, the background material on which the impurities adhered is taken into account. The background material must not be degraded due to the action of aggressive substances.
This is followed by surface neutralization according to the type of chemicals used. Some products need to be neutralized after not long time period to avoid breakage of the cleaned surface.
Only then the cleaning can take place, and depending on the material of the polluted surface, we also choose the mechanical method of dirt removal by using scrapers, brushes or special abrasive textiles or, for instance, using compressed air, pressure steam cleaners, etc.
Finally, if necessary, we preserve the treated surfaces with special preservatives, namely, inhibitors added to liquids or gasses….
